Adeniran Ayorinde David

My name is Adeniran Ayorinde David, a PhD AgSE student of the World Bank Africa Centre of Excellence in Agriculture domiciled in the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB). I am in Livestock Science option.

My keen interest in developmental sustainable agriculture made me harness the opportunity to put in for my Phd degree at the Centre of Excellence in Agriculture and Sustainable Environment (CEADESE).

Among the benefits I enjoyed being a livestock scientist in CEADESE include but not limited to the research grant and the internship opportunity I had.

At CHI Farms Nig. Limited where I had my first and second internship, I was exposed to modern Agricultural techniques.

I was also exposed to current trends in animal nutrition formulations and feed making. Furthermore, I was able to coin out my PhD project topic (EFFECT OF SUPPLEMENTAL LEVELS OF DL OR MHA-FA METHIONINE ON GROWTH AND LAYING PERFORMANCE OF TWO STRAINS OF EGG-TYPE CHICKENS) which is in line with the mandate of the Centre that students should look properly into the agricultural industry and find out a contribution through research to better the industry in the face of the changing climate.

Additionally, I got a lot of contacts and recommendations from my place of internship which provided me the privilege to be the Livestock feed consultant in another Agricultural organization not as sophisticated as my place of internship.

Being a student of CEADESE, I have gone through some mind opening courses which are not taught in the regular programme in FUNAAB, to really get to know and prepare us for sustainable agriculture and understanding the synergy of other programmes being offered at the Centre.

I also have the privilege of meeting great minds from other countries who provided relevant information about the agriculture industry in their homes.

I have been exposed to various certified trainings about research and advances techniques in agricultural industry.

Interestingly, the Centre made use of top notch researchers and agricultural industry figure home and abroad to deliver the trainings and workshop. That’s quite unbeatable!

I am very proud of the programme, talking about the impact it had on my career and I know the full benefit have not been unleashed as hopes are still rising.
