The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kolawole Salako has applauded the efforts of the World Bank Centre of Excellence in Agricultural Development and Sustainable Environment (CEADESE), FUNAAB for its efforts at scaling-up the Centre to meet International Standard and mandate as stipulated by the project donor, the World Bank.
Professor Salako said this while inspecting the World Bank projects in FUNAAB anchored under CEADESE ahead of the anticipated International Accreditation for the Centre and the World Bank visitation team billed to be in FUNAAB soon.
Led round the tour of the Centre’s facilities by the Director, CEADESE, Professor Olukayode Akinyemi, the Vice-Chancellor in the company of other Principal Officers, Deans, and Directors of Centres took time to admire and commend the Centre’s stride at making CEADESE a point of reference among other World Bank Africa Centres in the Country.
During the tour, Professor Salako appealed to would-be users of the facilities to make proper use of them, bearing in mind that a lot of money was pumped into making the equipment available.
He also called on Deans of Colleges to synergise with the Centre’s Director for adequate and proper use of the facilities.
Professor Akinyemi noted that the Centre is doing well now and is making all efforts to meet the standard, as stipulated by the donor.
At each inspection point, Professor Akinyemi took time to explain in detail what has been procured and the essence of its usage to the benefits of the Centre, Students and the University at large.
