Ogutuga Olayinka
My name is OgutugaOlayinka, a native of one of the states in the Western part of Nigeria. I am a doctoral student (Ph.D AgSE) at the World Bank Africa Centre of Excellence in Agricultural Development and Sustainable Environment (CEADESE), Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. I am privileged to be one of the pioneer students of CEADESE and registered in the Crop/Pasture Production and Sustainable Environment Programme. My area of specialisation is Plant Physiology and Genetics. My research is focused on iron metabolism in Oryza sativa and identification of putative genes involved in iron deficiency tolerance in rice varieties in the upland ecology. This research has provided information to build efficient genomic marker assisted selection for the improvement and breeding of iron deficiency tolerance in upland rice cultivars.
